December Edition 2019

have to keep track of all these issues and there are a lot of balls in the air with many different business divisions and units. What types of work do you outsource? Noa: We would generally outsource all of our litigation. We would also use outside counsel for highly specialized areas – such as energy, competition, real estate, environmental work and such. What do you look for and value mostly from outside legal counsel? Noa: I would look for outside counsel that are very practical. They have to give advice that we can use. They can present options, but I am looking for them to recommend a course of action too. I also truly value high quality service, follow up with emails and calls to acknowledge messages. There is so much going on, so that is especially important too. Relationships are key. I want outside counsel to have a relationship with the legal team here at Tnuva. How would you describe the landscape affecting your sector? Noa: The food industry in Israel is very highly regulated and so there is a lot of attention on the regulatory landscape on a daily basis. Being the largest food corporation in Israel, we, also, obviously, pay a lot of attention to laws and regulations of the Israeli Competition Authority . When you are not involved in major transactions, what do you do for fun in Israel? Noa: I like to spend as much time with family on the weekends. In the summer, we relax at the beach, but we also do a lot of hiking together in the north. The desert is also fantastic and so peaceful, so, with such a busy role, I really cherish that! 24
