May Edition 2020

What have been the challenges regarding communication and how easy has it been to communicate with your clients or business stakeholders, while working remotely? Nira: “I found it difficult to communicate with partners as not all my "co– workers" are at their desks, laptop, and emails, at the same time, so it can take a longer time for responses. Of course, this is not unique to our field, and that is obviously totally acceptable as many have children that they need to look after.” Before the pandemic, would you say your organization was already culturally good at adapting and catering to these challenges? What positives have you, and your organization, drawn from this? Nira: “Prior to the pandemic, we felt that webinars were for computer savvies and tech gurus, and only a handful of in-house counsel participated in webinars. Now even our grandmothers have mastered video conference platforms, so the relative ease of use will mean that a lot of meetings and seminars will use this medium and save commuting and wasting time. With our members the leading in-house counsel in Israel, we are obviously looking forward to seeing this trend continuing and helping them tackle the challenges ahead in these strange times.” 26
